Isn’t is shocking that a child living in poverty is happier than most of the people I know..

The diptychs took Laita eight years and include subjects from each of the 48 contiguous states. All of the black and white images were made using a traveling “studio” with an 8x10 camera, a single light and a grey backdrop, which help maintain neutrality and consistency in the paired images.
Laita states: “In America, the chasm between rich and poor is growing, the clash between conservatives and liberals is strengthening, and even good and evil seem more polarized than ever before. At the heart of this collection of portraits is my desire to remind us that we were all equal, until our environment, circumstances, or fate molded and weathered us into whom we have become.

Dreams Do Come True: adi_totp in India #1
I remember when I wrote “My Analogue Bucket List for 2012: Going Wild With the LC-Wide” back in January. There I said that I plan to travel to either India or China. Last February, I traveled to India! Yeah! Dreams do come true! Here’s my first story about my journey to India.
Please check out my new tumblr if you get a chance.
I love photoshop but the top photo is ridiculous. Why do we keep telling women they’re only beautiful if they have 0% body fat. I don’t know about the rest of you but I want something to hold onto when I hold my woman.

Photographer Lee Jeffries worked as a sports photographer before having a chance encounter one day with a young homeless girl on a London street. After stealthily photographing the girl huddled in her sleeping bag, Jeffries decided to approach and talk with her rather than disappear with the photograph. That day changed his perception about the homeless, and he then decided to make them the subject of his photography. Jeffries makes portraits of homeless people he meets in Europe and in the US, and makes it a point to get to know them before asking to create the portraits. His photographs are gritty, honest, and haunting.
